Why Estepona »
Old Town of Estepona
Estepona is a lively but peaceful Spanish town, with something to do, see and enjoy for everyone.
Narrow cobblestone streets with typically Spanish white houses, all covered in colorful flowers together with a background of mountainous landscapes or the Mediterranean Sea. All set against a clear blue sky, in a cosy ambiance full of Spanish character; not only in summer but certainly also in the quieter winter months.
Even though the lengthy boulevard along the main Estepona beach has its own city flavor, the old town feels like a Spanish village. In every corner of the Estepona old town you will get that “typically Spanish” feeling; In Estepona you feel that you have come to the real Spain with all the charming traditions that come with it!
Plaza Las Flores is the central square in the heart of Estepona old town, where you can smell the orange trees that surround the square. All year round the central fountain is surrounded by terraces, with people enjoying some tapas, lunch, coffee or a good glass of vino. From Plaza las Flores many narrow streets lead into new squares and many more terraces, restaurants and (tapas) bars.
Certainly worth visiting are Plaza del Reloj, Plaza Dr Arce, Plaza Padre Manuel. For shopping the main streets are Calle Terraza and Calle Real, situated just behind the boulevard.

Port of Estepona
To the West of the boulevard and the wider La Rada main beach, you will find the lighthouse, fishing port (Puerto Pescador) and main Marina of Estepona (Puerto Deportivo). Directly behind the Marina, the idyllic shallow bay of Playa Christo is a popular spot.
On the Costa del Sol, Estepona currently has one of the most active fishing fleets of the province. Local fishermen still sell their daily catch on the local fish market in the port.
Estepona Marina and town offer a great selection of local fish restaurants, which are also very popular with the Spanish locals who all love their fish. Set in a nice Spanish ambiance, with fresh fish being supplied on a daily basis, most of these restaurants are extremely affordable.
The Marina of Estepona is only 5 minutes from the old town. The Marina has been built in a U-Shape, which gives it a great ambiance and lay-out: Surrounded by apartments , restaurants, bars and small shops, which are divided over an upper and lower level. Most places in the port have beautiful views of the Marina.
Enjoy a walk through the port of Estepona, the fresh sea air, a drink or a snack, looking out over the yachts, with the fresh air and views of the sea… A real pleasure! Every Sunday Estepona Marina hosts a nice lively market, which attracts visitors from all over the Costa del Sol (10.00 to 15.00 hours).
